Hemp History & CBD 101 Class

 

Join us in the café on September 16th for Hemp History and CBD 101!
Pure Shenandoah Founder, Abner Johnson, will explain the history of hemp, from 8000 BC to present day. In addition, the versatility of the hemp plant and all of its uses will be discussed. Lastly, Abner will go over the health benefits of CBD and how it can be incorporated into your daily life to promote a lifetime of wellness. Participants will go home with samples of their products to try out.

Herbs for Menopause Class

Join Trisha Brown Leweke, owner of Mother Bear Medicinals, for ideas from the Wise Women Tradition on nourishing the body during perimenopause, menopause, & beyond. Learn about herbs, aromatherapy, and activities for emotional well-being, physical nourishment, and mental flexibility.
This class is open to all people, young and old, who identify as women and want to continue engaging in the world, and creating healthy communities. During this event the café will be closed to the public and we will set up our new partition wall at the entrance to provide privacy and encourage meaningful conversations.
Cost: $10/$5 for Owners

First Friday – Many Forms of Fungi Group Show

September is Mushroom Month and we’re celebrating with a special mushroom-themed First Friday.

Join us September 1st for First Friday group show opening with mushroom art by artists Jon Styer, Denise Allen, eirotropot! Come out and meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments from the store.

Absurd Snacks Sampling

Join us on Saturday from 3:oo-5:00PM  during Owner Appreciation Days to try out local Absurd Snacks! These snacks are produced in a dedicated top 9 allergen-free supply chain to be inclusive of common food allergies and sensitivities while still packing in delicious flavors that appeal to all. The Mayor Meats Sausage Sampling

Stop by on Saturday afternoon from 12:00PM-2:00PM during Owner Appreciation Days to try some handcrafted sausage from Richmond Virginia! The Mayor is a sausage company based out of the Manchester neighborhood on the South Side of Richmond using sustainably sourced meats. With chef-driven seasonal recipes and classic butchery techniques, they create craft sausages ranging from traditional styles to unique flavors. Be sure to stop by and try!

Chestnut Ridge Coffee Sampling

 

Come by during Owner Appreciation Days to sample local coffee from Chestnut Ridge Coffee Roasters! They’ll be sampling from 10:00AM-12:00PM on Saturday.

Honey & Hops Mead Sampling

 

Come by during Owner Appreciation Days to sample local mead from Honey & Hops! They’ll be sampling from 4:00PM-6:00PM on Friday.

Shirley’s Popcorn Sampling

Come by during Owner Appreciation Days to sample local gourmet popcorn from Shirley’s Popcorn! They’ll be sampling from 3:00PM-5:00PM on Friday.
