Food Waste Action Week

Join us in celebrating Food Waste Action Week this year. We’ll have fresh food storage zines available all week, composting demos on Saturday March 11th, and Amanda Presgraves Non-Recipe Book Talk on Sunday March 12th!

In 2019 1.24 million Food Waste Tons were produced in Virginia (ReFED). We can all play a part in reducing our food waste at home and at work! Keep an eye on our social media pages during the week to learn about how we combat food waste at the co-op.

First Fridays – Colorscapes by Martha Putney

We’ve joined First Fridays of the Valley family! Join us on the First Friday of every month for art made by local artists and refreshments from local vendors.

Join us for our first event on February 3rd for the Colorscapes art opening by our very own team member, Martha Putney! Come and experience color in new ways and enjoy local cider from Old Hill Cider and refreshments.

Artist Statement: Martha was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of Mary Washington in 2015.  Her head is filled with colors when she meets people, reads a book, and thinks about time.  Because of this, she is endlessly fascinated in how color has a language of its own for telling stories about people, places, emotions, and moments in time.  She aims to capture these stories by subtle and bold nuances of colors and shapes.

Mindfulness & Essential Oils Workshop

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL! Join us for an afternoon of mindfulness, essential oils, fun and learning with Rachel Hupp! If you’re looking for a holistic way to manage stress and anxiety, this workshop will provide the perfect opportunity to explore the connection between mindfulness and essential oils. Mindfulness has been around for centuries, and it’s a great tool for bringing focus and clarity to the present moment. Essential oils can be used to naturally soothe the nervous system, stimulate the olfactory system, and promote a feeling of wellbeing. In this workshop, you’ll get to learn how to use essential oils with mindfulness techniques, and make your own essential oil roller bottle to take home with you. This is a great chance to step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take some time to practice self-care.

$10/$5 for Owners. Class size will be limited so sign up soon. Your registration/payment secures your spot in the class. Register and pay on the events page of our website, in person at the co-op, or with your Co-Go online order. Owners receive a $5 discount, as always. We hope to see you there!
