First Friday – Upcycled Art Show

Join us on Friday April 7th from 5:00-7:00 to view different upcycled art pieces from two Co-op Staff Members!

Jeff Minnich paints on “recovered” surfaces like cardboard, plywood, flooring tiles, etc. He works mostly with acrylic paints using a variety of applicators like brushes, sponges, rags, and his hands.

Artist Statement: Jeff doesn’t have a lot of training in the arts, but has been told that’s not a problem. The last art class he took was in his junior year of high school.  He has always been surrounded by art, artists, and creative people. All of them are a constant source of inspiration for him. Sometimes his head spins from it, which isn’t a problem for him. Nothing ever works out in the end the way he pictured it in his head when he started.

Kari Souder works with all sorts of scavenged materials like clock parts, computer motherboards, dried flowers, and more to create new things out of old parts.
