Join us on Friday March 3rd from 5:00-7:00 to view different art pieces from four different Co-op Staff Members!

Denise Kanter Allen will be showing acrylic paintings on cradled wood panel.

Artist Statement: Denise favors acrylic paints for her art making but continues to explore all types of media, as well as collaborating with other artists.

Henry North-Sandel will be showing drawings of Firetruck apparatus made with pencil and colored pencil on paper.

Artist Statement: Drawing fire apparatus  has always been a hobby of Henrys. He draws high-detailed fire trucks designed by him for different areas based on their needs. The drawings for this show were designed for the LA area in California.

Sam Lawson will be using a variety of mediums to depict the unknown and to tell stories.

Artist Statement: Having held a lifelong fascination with horror, fear and the unknown have a deeply rooted place in my life. For as long as I can remember I have experienced frequent and vivid nightmares, and despite the terror they inflicted upon me as a child, I have always felt an innate urge to seek out said terrors. It is through these fascinations that I have found myself as an artist and a creator, having spent the past 15 years of my life primarily teaching myself how to replicate the monstrosities that I have sought out for so long. Art has proven to serve not just as a means for me to explore my interest in and love for fear, but to share it with others as well. My goal through my works is to convey my perspectives and feelings on both horror and life as a whole

Anna Suter will be showing acrylic paintings on canvas of pictures of her car, a 2014 Ford Mustang, in pop art style.

Artist Statement: As an Art major I have dabbled in many media, but I prefer painting. My work explores settings and objects that are important to me. I enjoy the natural world, especially the tropics, and I frequently paint the flora of those warm climates. I have a similar affinity for my automobile—a 2014 Ford Mustang—and I enjoy examining how the parts make up the whole, drawing attention to details which might otherwise be overlooked. Since visiting the Andy Warhol Museum in 2014, I have been influenced by his multiple presentations of the same photographic image, a technique that I employ in a slightly different way. I enjoy playing with how color and the juxtaposition of images affect viewers’ perception of my work and, thus, their understanding of the subject matter.

Light refreshments will be served and Brother’s Craft Brewing will be in store sampling an array of beers. We hope you’ll join us!
