We’re a Grocery Store that Gives Back

Because Community Matters!

At Friendly City Food Co-op, we’re more than just your local grocery store; we’re deeply committed to being a pillar in the Shenandoah Valley community. Beyond providing high-quality products and organic food, we actively contribute to the well-being of our community with our Round Up for Change Program, Give Fresh Program, and through community donations. We’re always happy to support local events that align with our Ends policy:

The co-op exists so that Shenandoah Valley has: a vibrant local economy; fair and friendly relationships; healthy, informed consumers and producers; and a healthy environment.

Fueling Your Mission

What We Donate

Do you have a community event or fundraiser coming up where you’ll need door prizes, raffle items, or an in-kind donation? We can help! At the food co-op we’re happy to donate:

A curated basket brimming with goodies from the aisles of our grocery store (up to a $50 value)

 $50 worth of gift cards to the Friendly City Food Co-op.

In-kind donations for food or materials you will need for your event. Examples: brown paper bags, cases of sparkling water, etc.

If you’re organizing an event in the Shenandoah Valley and seeking out donations, fill out our form! The application process is straightforward, simply fill out the form at least one month before your event. Share details about your event, how it aligns with our Ends policy, and how our donation can make a difference. We review all the applications we receive with care and anticipation and will let you know if your donation is approved within one week of receiving your application.

By applying for a donation from our co-op, you’re not just receiving a basket of goodies or a gift card to a grocery store; you’re joining hands with a community that cares.

We currently accept donation requests from the public for community-based events. Applications must be submitted one month prior to the event. We are happy to provide gift cards (up to a $50 value) or a gift basket (up to a $50 value) for events that align with our ends policy. The ends policy states “Friendly City Food Co-op exists so that the Shenandoah Valley has: a vibrant local economy, fair and friendly relationships, healthy, informed consumers and producers; and a healthy environment.”
