Join us on Sunday, May 25 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM for an insightful and engaging Book Talk with local author Amanda K Gross!
Meet Amanda as she discusses her powerful book, White Women, Get Ready: How Healing Post-Traumatic Mistress Syndrome Leads to Anti-Racist Change. This event will feature an author reading, an interactive activity, free refreshments, and a book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase during the event.
About the Book
Inspired by Dr. Joy DeGruy‘s work on Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome — and used with her blessing — White Women, Get Ready explores how white women have been groomed to uphold systems of oppression, the harmful multigenerational impact of these systems, and how we can leverage our unique positioning to challenge and dismantle them. This book is a collaborative effort that emerged from Black-led, multiracial, and multicultural spaces calling for white people, particularly white women, to organize and take action.
