Owner Appreciation Day

It’s time for our quarterly Owner Appreciation Day again! We like to show our appreciation for our owners by offering them 10% of all purchases on this day.

We also like to highlight our local vendors by having them in the store with samples of their products. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity- not only can you taste their delicious food, but you have a chance to ask questions about the food they produce for you.

Dip Bowl

Join us on Saturday January 19, from 11-2pm, and taste some delicious dips created by Friendly City Co-op team members. You’ll recognize a few from our deli, and some that were easily created using products from the store. Enter to win a Dip Bowl prize and get recipes for the dips you like best.

Winter Wonderfest – Crafts & Activities for Kids

Come and make a gingerbread house with us!!

The co-op will have fun Crafts & Activities for kids (for up to 2 hours) while their parents shop downtown for Winter Wonderfest. There will be a play area and crafting station, a gingerbread house-making station, snacks, and we’ll make reindeer food (trail mix)! The kids will love it.

This activity is FREE.

Egg Nog Bowl

On Saturday December 15, from 2-4pm, you’ll get to sample all varieties of our eggnog– both dairy and non-dairy– and vote for your favorite. In a random drawing, one person will win the eggnog they voted for.

Co-op Learning: Enhancing Immunity Workshop

Learn 6 techniques to transform, and anchor, your wellness practices.  Join experienced local healer & teacher Connie Magee for an evening integrating 6 ancient techniques to strengthen and support your immune function.  Self-care, breathwork, plant medicine (tea form), immune poultice, detoxifying stretches and guided sound healing meditation.  You will leave with tools and practices that are easy to integrate into your life, and positively impact your long and short term health.

Presented by: Connie Magee MS Ed, E-RYT, AWEMT – a yoga & meditation teacher, integrative bodyworker, sound healer and student of acupuncture. She teaches weekly classes and workshops at The Center Yoga (Icehouse) and travels extensively offering workshops and mobile healing work.

Join us for our annual wreath making class with Amanda Tutwiler of Sparrow’s Flowers. Due to popular demand, we’ll offer the class at two different times this year– Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 6:00 pm and on Sunday Dec. 6 at 2:00 pm. You don’t need any special skills in order to create a beautiful wreath from the provided fresh (and many local) greens. If you have something you’d like to include, be sure to bring it with you.

All supplies are included with class cost of $25. Owners get $5 off ticket price!

Veggie Wrap Demo with Morgan Martindell

Join us from 1:00-3:00pm on Monday, October 22nd when Morgan Martindell with VCE‘s Family Nutrition Program will teach us how to make a veggie wrap recipe using whole grains. The demo, tasting and recipes are FREE.

Co-op Learning: Herbal Remedies for Fall

Autumn is a time of transition, as we move from summer activity to cooler weather and a change in energy.  Natural herbal aids make the transition smoother and build the immune system for Winter. Come learn about supportive herbs and make a tea blend, ginger syrup and an herbal throat spray.

Join us for this class, conducted by Red Root & Co.’s Corey MacDonald, which promises to be interesting and informative. You’ll get to take home some of what we make.

Cost is $10 or $5 for Owners. Register online or in-store to secure your place.
